New Riders of the Purple Sage è l'album di debutto della band country rock americana New Riders of the Purple Sage. È stato pubblicato dalla Columbia Records nel 1971 e ha raggiunto il numero 39 nelle classifiche di Billboard.

New Riders of the Purple Sage è l'unico album in studio dei New Riders a presentare il co-fondatore Jerry Garcia dei Grateful Dead alla pedal steel guitar. È presente anche negli album live Vintage NRPS e Bear's Sonic Journals: Dawn of the New Riders of the Purple Sage.

Mickey Hart e il comandante Cody suonano rispettivamente la batteria e il pianoforte in due tracce: "Dirty Business" e "Last Lonely Eagle".
