STUDIO OUTTAKES AND JAMS
Sono circolati così tanti file e CD che è praticamente impossibile descriverli tutti.
Quindi ecco alcuni dettagli di pochi. Quello che vedi qui è duplicato su dozzine di altre raccolte simili e le raccolte qui elencate si duplicano a vicenda.
Questo genere di cose sono quasi sempre compilate in modo scadente e generalmente servono come materia prima per le tue compilation.
Tutto questo aiuta a capire cosa c'è là fuori e cos'altro potrebbe esserci ufficialmente in arrivo.
STUDIO HAZE
Sembra logico iniziare con questa raccolta che conteneva outtakes di Experience (brani da 1 a 9) rivisitati nel 1988 da Chas Mitch e Noel! Sembra che alcune scatole di nastri siano state trovate agli Olympic Studios, quindi Chas è stato contattato e ha poi portato Mitch e Noel, per rattoppare alcuni degli outtakes. Ovviamente Chas aveva un album in mente e questo è stato fatto con cura, quindi la qualità del suono è di prima classe.
In alcune tracce ( "Sunshine Of Your Love" per esempio) la batteria di Mitch suona un po 'troppo fresca (tecniche di produzione anni '80) quindi non funzionano come avrebbero potuto.
Chas ha deciso di lasciare che Mitch e Noel creassero i testi e poi cantassero un paio di tracce. Questo è il caso di "Cat Talkin 'To Me"con una voce parlata da Mitch e "Little One" su cui Noel canta perché diventi "There Ain't Nothing Wrong" (apparve più tardi nel CD ufficiale di tributo a Noel Redding "The Experience Sessions"). "Chas ha anche aggiunto degli ottoni a " Takin 'Care Of No Business " e funziona molto bene (forse lui e Jimi avevano programmato di farlo in quel modo). " Gypsy Blood " (aka " Cryin' Blue Rain " ) è un titolo esagerato per un breve improvvisato azzurri tema in cui Jimi delicatamente la bocca un po 'di "Yeah Yeahs" e "ooohs". Infine, "Vergogna, Vergogna, Vergogna" è una versione di "e' un peccato"era infatti la continuazione della stessa jam di "Room Full Of Mirrors"Qui. Alcuni collezionisti hanno fuso insieme le marmellate.

Questa interessante collezione è stata presa da un tributo radiofonico olandese "Wereldberoemd" (che significa "Famoso in tutto il mondo") su Radio 6 nel novembre 2007. Ci sono alcune rarità affascinanti qui. C'è un nastro campione di Jimi e Paul Caruso che suonano "Tears of Rage" di Dylan da un nastro che è stato venduto a Experience Hendrix nel 2005, credo. Poi c'è la tavola armonica "Hear My Train ..." dalla Royal Albert Hall il 18 febbraio! L'intero concerto deve essere da qualche parte (vedrà presto un'uscita ufficiale?). La versione di "Come On" è il singolo francese, che era una versione completamente diversa da quella di "Ladyland" o di "Lifelines"! "Burning Of The Midnight Lamp"è una versione diversa da quella che è stata perfezionata per il singolo. " Summertime Blues" è la registrazione del pubblico del Saville Club 67.

Gli Experience si sono sciolti ma Mitch rimane per aiutare Jimi a mettere insieme una nuova band con alcuni dei suoi amici. Praticano in una casa in affitto a Shokan vicino a Woodstock. I musicisti si sentono insieme e stanno imparando a conoscere la musica di Jimi in preparazione del concerto del Woodstock Festival, per il quale erano mal preparati. È facile dire che la band non era molto brava, ma chi è quando suonano insieme per la prima volta? Non c'era pubblico qui, quindi non è una "performance" da giudicare. Non bisogna dimenticare anche che Jimi ha deliberatamente lasciato spazio a Larry Lee che ha creato pause comparative (cosa che non è mai avvenuta con The Experience).
Il CD ha un suono molto buono e, a parte i tentativi di numeri familiari, ci sono alcune interessanti jam sciolte. Si avverte il desiderio di Jimi di distendersi dalla cosa in tre pezzi. La brevissima dodicesima traccia inizia come un riff di tipo " Machine Gun" e poi va molto brevemente in " If Six was Nine "! Un evento molto raro e l'unica volta in cui ho sentito Jimi toccarlo al di fuori di "Axis".
Le ultime due tracce provengono da una jam molto rilassata e spaziale al Tinker Street Cinema di Woodstock, una delle quali presenta un suonatore di flauto.

"Bright Lights Big City"
A home recording. Jimi talks and plays a little with his old Greenwich Village chum Paul Caruso in "early 1968". Jimi also played this Jimmy Reed number when he was with Curtis Knight And The Squires.
"World Traveller"
An outtake from May 1969, with Buddy Miles and Duane Hitchings (not Larry Young !). It chugs along with a nice funky rhythm for around 8 minutes and features an off the cuff rapping vocal from Jimi.
"It's Too Bad"
Recorded the same day as the previous track this is I think the complete 11 minute take of the track that appeared officially on the MCA 2000 box set.
"Message To Love"
Jimi with the Buddy Miles Express recorded at the same time as the "Blue Window" that appreared officially on the "Martin Scorcese Presents The Blues" compilation album. It is just a short instrumental jam around the basic riff of the song.
"Things I Used To Do 1"/"Things I Used To Do 2"
From the same session as the track that appeared neatly on the boot "By Night" (and recently "Villonova Junction") but this time we hear the whole session. One of the takes was on "Lifelines" and a slightly edited version appeared on People, Hell And Angels.
"Cherokee Mist Jam"
The same thing that appeared on the MCA 2000 box set with lesser quality.
"Little Dog Of Mine"
Absent on my copy. See "Diamonds In The Dust" - below
"Bolero - Mix N° 1"
Jimi with some unknown musicians on a fascinating recording. It isn't Ravel's Bolero at all, but has a similar chugging rhythm. There is some piano in there and some nice floating trumpet playing over the top. Jimi comes in with some nice fuzz guitar.
"Hear My Train A Comin"/"Drivin South"
From the BBC sessions. "Drivin South" is the one where Jimi broke a string.
"Hollywood Jam"
October 68 iand an interesting brief jam with keyboard player Lee Michaels and Buddy Miles on another drum kit ! Also known as "Electric Church Jam".
"Mushy Name"
A jam with Cox and Mitchell around some riffs that were later integrated into "Ezy Ryder". Sounds like some organ in there aswell but it's Jimi's guitar fed through a Leslie speaker I think, like on "Tax Free". In Eddie Kramer's book, the title "Mushy Name" is also given to the jams that have since become known as "Little One". Officially released as "Inside Out" on "People, Hell & Angels" (2013)
"Drifter's Escape"
Different from the officially released versions and this is unfortunately speeded up, making Jimi sound like someone else. Shame.
"Midnight Lightning (rap)"
Not a rap at all but a brief impressive lick from Jimi . He toys with the riff of Howlin Wolf's "Spoonful", then you can hear Kramer ask him to play a sequence again so he can get it down on tape. On the following track we hear how Jimi incorporates it into the song. Released officially as "Play That RIff" on West Coast Seattle Boy (box)
"Midnight Lightning"
Some of this sounds like the basic track that Alan Douglas had used on the collage album of the same name. It's great .
"Hound Dog Acoustic"
This is from the sequence in the unreleased "Experience" film where Jimi treats some friends (sitting around him on a bed) to an acoustic improvisation on the Leiber/Stoller classic which falls apart as Jimi goes into "Two Old Maids" (which he also threw into the previous track on this CD !).

This hotch-potch di jam in studio, work-in-progress e registrazioni da solista ha alcuni momenti interessanti. La maggior parte di essi ha trovato la sua strada nelle versioni ufficiali nel corso degli anni con una qualità del suono superiore, tuttavia, qui a volte sentiamo mix diversi e più grezzi. Le fonti mostrate qui sono come sono descritte sul CD.

This the full Blue Suede Blues Band Of Gypsys jam. An extact first appeared on Loose Ends (with more hilarious studio chat) and later with Douglas overdubs on Midnight Lightning. It also later appeared in the shops on Purple Haze Records' Truth And Emotion. Some great improvisations on here which deserve to be included on a Dagger jam album or something.

Può essere trovato completo nel bootleg "Message from 9 To The Universe - Volume Two" in basso.
"Drone Blues"
All'inizio Jimi incorpora quella raffica di note "Midnight Lightning" (dettagliata su "Freak Out Jam"). Altre parti suonano più come " Drivin South ". Fantastico. Questo è apparso modificato in "Nine To The Universe" ed è stato successivamente pubblicato in forma completa da Dagger in "Hear My Music".
"Jimi Jimmy Jam"
Jimi con Jim McCarty (di Buddy Miles Express e successivamente di Cactus) su un bel brano rock macinante in due parti, la seconda delle quali è familiare da "Nine To The Universe" e ora completa in "Hear My Music ". Registrato penso contemporaneamente ad alcune jam con Jack Bruce e Buddy Miles che sono apparse anche loro.
Peccato che "Easy Blues" non sia stato incluso.

These were also pencilled in by Alan Douglas for inclusion on the "Midnight Lightning" album. The first is a fine jam with a vocal and another guitarist (Larry Lee ?). It is incomplete here (see "Diamonds In The Dust" or the recent "Am I Blue" on Purple Haze Records. "Further On Up The Road" is a great spontanous jab at the blues classic which unfortunately falls apart.
"Traffic Jam"
This is the "Jam Thing" from the Hendrix/Traffic album below.
"Once I had A Woman"
Same as on "Blues"
"BB King Jam"/"Everythings Gonna Be Alright"
From the oft bootlegged Generation Club jam with the Gentleman of the blues, Mr. B ! B ! King ! A nice sleazy sound to this.

Questo è un titolo ridicolo in quanto non presenta affatto Traffic! "
" Jam Thing "è stato registrato il 15 giugno 1970 all'Electric Lady e comprende solo Chris Wood dei Traffic e Dave Palmer, il batterista degli Amboy Dukes (con il chitarrista degli anni '70 Ted Nugent). La traccia è interessante, in quanto parte di essa presenta Jimi suonava intorno al suo tema "Bolero" / "Hey Baby" . Aveva menzionato che stava lavorando a questa "suite" in un'intervista con Keith Altman nel settembre 1970.
"Guitar Thing" fu descritto più tardi in "Morning Symphony Ideas di Dagger Record". "nella sua forma originale come parte dell'improvvisazione intitolata " Keep On Groovin " .Ci sono ancora echi di "Hey Baby" (o " Gypsy Boy"almeno).
"Session Thing" risale all'ottobre 1968 e presenta Lea Michaels alle tastiere e forse Lowell George al flauto (secondo il sito In From The Storm).
La copertina mostra Jimi con, da sinistra a destra, Eric Burdon, John Mayall, Stevie Winwwood (di Traffic ovviamente) e il recentemente scomparso Carl Wayne di The Move. Scattata durante il Beat Monster Festival in Germania credo.

This is I think from the Woodstock Shoka House jams. It begins with some abstract percussion and chucka chuck guitar plus flute, before restarting with a hurried "Beginning".

"Cherokee Mist"
This is the version with the thumping indian drum beat and "sitar"sounding guitar (Noel ? Dave Mason ?) while Jimi goes wild on feedback behind.
"Pride Of Man"
Like on "Freak Out Jam", this is simply the "Cherokee Mist/In from The Storm" that was on the MCA box but is longer here
"Ezy Ryder"
This is "Lullabye For The Summer" (released officially on "Valleys Of Neptune") but has different mix and a muted funky intro from Jimi.
"Drivin South"
The second part of the jam with McLaughlin (missing on "McLaughlin sessions")
"Highway Of Desire"
A tedious 22 minute jam by Band Of Gypsys (with a harmonica player) which starts as a proto "Freedom". In the middle Jimi improvises a vocal with some of "Ezy Ryder". The line "...the highway of desire" becomes "...the highway of broken hearts", which is used on some boots as the title for this jam (also on the "Astro Man" box set). Then Jimi improvises another lyric; "7 dollars in my pocket ..." which on some bootlegs is presented alone. Hard work to sit through all this, a bit like the "Burning Desire" is on "Baggy's rehearsals".
"Send My Love To Linda"
A glimpse of this appeared on "Lifelines". A song in it's earliest stage.
"Cryin' Blue Rain"
The notes say that this is Band Of Gypsys, but in sounds more like Mitch plus a second guitarist (Larry Lee ?). This is not the "Blue Window" jam (which used the line "Cryin' Blue Rain" in the lyrics) but the blues jam "Lord I Sing The Blues For You And Me" in a much longer version than on "Drone Blues".
"Villanova Junction/Ships Passing In The Night"
On the sleeve it says that this is a jam "with Steve Stills and Nicky Hopkins" but that only really refers to the first part which bears no relation to "Villanova Junction" and is a long shuffling jam. I think Jimi is on bass there so it's perhaps from the session that produced the "Live And Let Live" on the Timothy Leary album. If so, the third guitarist is John Sebastien and the piano is Duane hitchings.
The slow second part (which bears no ressemblace to "Ships Passing In The Night") is quite beautiful and it's from a jam with Richie Havens (acoustic guitar), Eric Oxendine (Haven's bassist) and Jimi on electric guitar. Oxendine has said that he possesses more tapes of jams with Jimi.
"Lil' Dog Of Mine/Valleys Of Neptune"
A brief snippet of Jimi clowning around in the studio with this little popular ditty. Then there is a long wait before he and Cox doodle around the basic riff of "Valleys Of Neptune". God knows what this doing on a set which claims to be "The best of ...)
"Blue Window Jam Part 1 & 2"
The complete 20 minute jam that was edited down for the "Martin Scorcese presents The Blues" compilation. It is of course Jimi with Buddy Miles Express and "Part 2" is where it goes into the basic "Message To Love" riff, also on "Freak Out Jam" (but with much better sound here).
"Variation On A Theme/Lonely Avenue"
This appeared officially on "Morning Symphony Ideas" as "Keep On Groovin" and "Jungle". What the hell was Jimi doing with Buddy Miles behind him.
"Ships Passing In The Night"
An interesting jam attributed to B.O.G. (again it sounds more like Mitch's subtilities) with a muted trumpet accompanyment from I don't know who. Jimi's vocal is a little shakey and it soon falls apart. It bears no relation to the other track here with this name.
Blue Window
Izabella Session (10.01), Blue Window Jams (33.50), Keep On Groovin' Sessions (25.00)
An interesting collection here of jams from March to May 1969. The best parts of that "Izabella" turned up on the Dagger release "Burning Desire" and a much shortened "Blue Window" was put on the "Martin Scorcese Presents The Blues - Jimi Hendrix". This complete version is great and reveals much more improvisation from Jimi and the other musicians. As for "Keep On Groovin" , I knew some of this from the Radioactive release "Studio Outtakes Vol. 2"(and on Reclamation's "In The Studio - Volume 2"). It's a very loose jam with Paul Caruso (harmonica) and Devon Wilson (backing vocals) with all concerned making things up as they go along in total abandon. It all gets very wild and tribal and it's fascinating "fly-on-the-wall" stuff as we hear just what Jimi got up to outside the pressures of touring and having fun in the studio. Enough to give Mike Jeffrey nightmares.

Questa interessante sequenza ci offre tutta la jam " Shuffle" , un estratto del quale è stato precedentemente visto in "Lifelines". Si fonde in un mix alternativo di " Rainy Day " nella sua forma non separata, il che è fantastico.
"Gypsy Eyes"
Questa sequenza presenta alcuni scarsi lavori in corso con alcuni bei lavori di chitarra. Spogliato in questo modo, uno dei riff qui è molto vicino a "Outside Woman Blues". I primi due ciak strumentali si scompongono e la terza versione è un primo mix grezzo con una voce e alcune sovraincisioni di chitarra alternative. Abbiamo anche sentito come è continuato dopo il dissolvenza dell'album.

primo cade a pezzi, il secondo visto prima in "Lifelines".
" Three Little Bears "
Anche in questo caso la versione lunga e tentacolare, ma non così completa come quella di "Axis Outtakes" e "Villanova Junction".

Il mix alternativo con percussioni e alcuni strati di chitarra più prominenti. Suono decisamente migliore rispetto a "Axis Outtakes". Dio, Jimi era appassionato di questo.
" Instrumental "
Questa è una versione strumentale della composizione di Mitchell / Redding "Dance" (vedi "Axis Outtakes"). Il riff fu successivamente mantenuto da Jimi come base per il suo " Ezy Ryder " per il quale aggiunse anche un altro riff con cui stava giocando, noto come " Mushy Name " (vedi "Freak Out Jam").
" House Burning Down "
Interessanti primi mix di questa splendida canzone. Di nuovo alcuni bei pezzi di chitarra e voci inutilizzati qua e là. Il secondo suona come un primo mix di acetato, crepitii e tutto il resto.
"Burning Of The Midnight Lamp"
Una versione mono molto simile all'originale fino a quando non si rompe, riparte e poi svanisce.
Miami Pop Festival - 18 maggio 1968 - Foxy lady, Fire, Gettin My Heart Back Together, Purple Haze.
Due delle tracce live di Miami erano già su "Calling Long Distance". Ottima registrazione della tavola armonica qui e questo deve essere tutto ciò che c'è del concerto. Anche "Concert Files" di Tony Brown elenca solo queste tracce. Mitch ha detto nel suo libro che lui e Jimi erano alti come aquiloni qui e suonano un po 'pigri.
BALL & CHAIN

Questo CD, che ha una buona qualità del suono, è per lo più tratto da una jam strumentale con il tastierista Lee Michaels nell'ottobre 1968 (tracce mostrate in rosso). Sembra Buddy Miles alla batteria. È tutto un po 'faticoso, ma Jimi riesce a scatenarsi con alcuni assoli pesanti qua e là, quindi questo lo rende interessante. C'è una voce rap improvvisata di Jimi in " Hear My Freedom Call Me" .
Le altre tracce sono outtakes work-in-progress piuttosto noiosi. " Honeybed ", con Cox e Miles, è il titolo provvisorio di Jimi per la struttura della canzone che sarebbe diventata " Come Down Hard On Me " e " Bleeding Heart " e qui ha testi totalmente diversi. Aaargh! " Tre orsetti"ancora ! Questo mix ha la traccia vocale di Jimi in primo piano prima che vengano fuori gli strumenti per la jam (a cui manca la coda lenta).
Jack Bruce Jams
Il bassista dei Cream incontra Jimi e non sono sicuro di chi altro per un po 'di jamming. Un incontro interessante visto che i Cream erano il progetto del "power trio" per The Jimi Hendrix Experience. Un po 'sibilante e le solite cose blues che picchiano con un paio di pugnalate interrotte a " Sunshine Of Your Love " lungo la strada. Lungo e noioso con, come al solito, qualche grande assolo all'interno.
Jimi's Private Reels Volume 1 - Two Guitars On A Wednesday Night

Qui Jimi suona con un altro chitarrista che si dice sia Taj Mahal ma questo non è mai stato confermato. Secondo Caesar Glebeek, Jimi sta suonando con Jim McCarty (di Buddy Miles Express) e questo sembra più probabile. Alla fine della prima traccia puoi sentire chiaramente il musicista dire "Davvero bravo!" e certamente non è la voce di Taj Mahal.
Non c'è una sezione ritmica poiché le jam sono state registrate in una camera d'albergo, in un appartamento o nella casa di Shokan e questo è solo un generale strimpellare e scarabocchiare. Jimi è solo nell'embrionale "Astro Man / Valley Of Neptune" e la sua voce rivela che la registrazione è un po 'troppo veloce.
"Private Reels Volume 2" era composto da estratti della jam del club BB King, la jam con i membri dei Traffic e una "Villanova Junction" (sic) su cui Jimi suona solo il basso.

Questa è una versione leggermente più corta delle marmellate e ha un suono più debole. Dice "Appartment Jam 70" ma si pensa che questi nastri siano più simili al 1969 (sicuramente se il luogo fosse davvero la casa degli Shokan).

Molto interessante sentire come Jimi abbia messo insieme "Voodoo Chile" e "Voodoo Child (Slight Return".
Band Of Gypsys - The Rehearsal Sessions
L'uscita della Dagger Records è stata davvero il "meglio" delle prove di Baggy, quindi questa raccolta ti permette di ascoltare tutto il lavoro in corso. Cose affascinanti mentre sentiamo Jimi mettere insieme le sue idee a poco a poco.
Altri due outtakes, "Machin Gun" e "Izabella" , possono essere ascoltati sul sito ufficiale.
Message From 9 To The Universe - Volume One

Questo interessantissimo CD ATM presenta nuovamente l'album "9 To The Universe" ma questa volta con le jam inedite. Le stesse tracce emergono su molti altri bootleg, ma questa è stata un'ottima idea. Tutto questo è emerso più tardi con l'uscita di Reclamation con lo stesso titolo.
L'album offre un quadro chiaro del meticoloso lavoro di Alan Douglas per creare quella famigerata versione ufficiale degli anni '80. Ecco un confronto dei tempi (modifica> originale) *:

Una notevole differenza nei tempi! Tuttavia, i tagli di Alan Douglas erano molto ben posizionati, mantenendo i momenti essenziali delle marmellate e non rovinando affatto il flusso. Le marmellate non tagliate sono tuttavia affascinanti poiché si sente Jimi dal vivo e diretto, mentre i succhi creativi fluiscono. Nella title track, sentiamo una breve voce rap di Devon Wilson che risponde alle lusinghe di Jimi.
Nella versione ufficiale di Dagger "Hear My Music" , "Jimi / Jimmy Jam" dura 40 secondi in più e "Drone Blues" è più breve di cinque secondi.
Message From 9 To The Universe - Volume Two

Il volume due continuava con jam più familiari, ad esempio " Rainy Day Shuffle " (un estratto era su "Lifelines") e " It's Too Bad " (cofanetto MCA). Quest'ultima canzone era anche in "Studio Outtakes Vol.2" dei Radioactive insieme al funky "World traveller" . La versione di "Strato Strut" è un montaggio diverso da quello di "Morning Symphony Ideas" (in realtà è un montaggio di Alan Douglas).
Di particolare interesse è la jam completa con John McLaughlin, tutti i 29 minuti (anche se ha pochi clic). Un incontro storico di due grandi della chitarra, ovviamente, ma il povero vecchio McLaughlin suona solo su una chitarra acustica riparata con un pick-up difettoso. Scoppietta in modo fastidioso mentre mette in pochi assoli frizzanti ma deboli, poi Jimi arriva e dimostra che non si tratta solo di molte note veloci "complicate", qualcosa che pochi dei suoi colleghi e successori non hanno mai afferrato.
Jimi Hendrix e Larry Young - Record Plant Sessions 1969

Larry Young è infatti solo su quattro dei brani. Il primo è di nuovo la superba jam di " Young Hendrix " (in forma modificata in "Nine To The Universe") seguita da tre jam sciolte dalla stessa sessione. Poi ci sono due jam con un altro tastierista, Duane Hitchings. Il disco termina con " World Traveller ", " It's Too Bad " (indicato come " My Brother's Dead ") e l'ultima traccia " Livin 'At The Burwood ", è semplicemente una modifica della prima traccia.

Questo CD raccoglie alcune registrazioni casalinghe. Alcuni brani da "Jimi By Himself", una coppia da una jam con Paul Caruso (estratto da "Freak Out Jam"). C'è anche una mezz'ora "Acoustic Jam With Mitch " che è piuttosto Lo-Fi ma interessante. Mitch si allontana rumorosamente (su qualunque cosa fosse a portata di mano sembra) mentre Jimi scarabocchia via, suonando parti di "Stepping Stone", "Cherokee Mist" e un sacco di improvvisazione. "My Friend" è un demo acustico da solista sconnesso e sfortunatamente " Our Lovely Home" (aka "Snowballs At My Window") si interrompe dopo circa un minuto.

Un bootleg interessante che raccoglie le versioni inalterate dei brani che sono stati hackerati da Alan Douglas per il controverso album "Crash Landing" del 1975 più alcune altre tracce che erano state scritte a matita per quell'album. C'è un fantastico "Lover Man" (che conosco solo da questa raccolta) e "Power Of Soul" è molto meglio del confuso mix di Eddie Kramer che è apparso in "South Saturn Delta". È interessante anche ascoltare le versioni grezze di "Somewhere" e la ri-registrazione di "Stone Free" . "Peace In Mississippi" è uguale alla versione "Voodoo Soup" e "Message To Love"differisce molto poco dalla versione del box set MCA. L'ultima traccia è infatti la stessa della versione ufficiale dell'album (con le sovraincisioni di Douglas) ma è un po 'più lunga.

Questo bootleg disordinato raccoglie alcune fonti originali (in molte riprese e fasi di completamento) ma sono presenti anche alcune manomissioni di Alan Douglas. Il "Power Of Soul" è più avanzato rispetto a quanto sopra CD ed è considerato come la migliore versione.

Questo doppio CD preparato con cura presenta le versioni inedite dei brani che erano sull'album ufficiale ": Blues". In effetti c'è Un acetato di Jimi in una sessione del 1970 con Love, emerso di recente su Ebay ed è ora in circolazione tra i collezionisti. La sessione ha avuto luogo agli Olympic Studios di Londra (marzo 1970). La prima traccia è un primo mix della traccia che ha aperto l'album Love "False Start". Jimi mette alcune parti vocali nei due brevi e stridenti ciak di "Ezy Ryder" . Finalmente c'è una bella jam di dieci minuti con tutti gli interessati in cui Jimi scambia assoli e riff con Gary Rowles.
